Mobile Lightroom Setup (DNG Format) VS Lightroom Desktop Presets (XMP Format)
Lightroom mobile layouts are basically images that come with previously used settings. The free setup you will download from the links mentioned below will be in .DNG format and you just need to copy the settings from these files and paste them into your photos in the Lightroom mobile app for them to work.
While Lightroom Desktop Presets are not images these files come in .XMP format and exported by New Adobe Lightroom CC Classic. Mobile pre-configured was created in Lightroom Classic and exported in .DNG format so we can use them with the Lightroom Mobile App.
Whether used on mobile or desktop, both work in the same way but the only difference is that you need DNG files to use on mobile and use them on the desktop you need .XMP files. Also, you need a Lightroom subscription to use the preset on Desktop but you do not need to pay to set up a preset with Lightroom Mobile as it is free to use.
How to Install Lightroom Setup on Desktop
It is very easy to import pre-configured into Lightroom Classic.
1. Open Lightroom Classic, go to file> Import photos and videos.
2. Now import some photos and select any imported images.
3. Select the Develop Module at the top right of the screen, on the left side, click on (+) under the Presets tab and select “Import Presets”.
4. View xmp settings, select, and import previously setup.
How to Install Setup with Lightroom Mobile
Installing pre-configured cell phones is a tedious task and I have to explain in detail.
1. Create a new album in the Lightroom Mobile App. Click on the (+) icon in the album section (right on your screen).
2. Upload all the preparations to the new album. To add a preset, click on the "+ and icon icon" at the bottom of the screen. Choose your mobile setup and install all DNG files.
3. Open any pre-loaded settings for a new album in Lightroom and click on the three dot icon at the top right> select Reset.
4. Give your pre-set name and save it. You can also choose to group under a new group
5. Now open any of your photos.
6. Find the Presets icon in the menu at the bottom of the screen and tap on it.
7. Now browse your settings and apply them to your photos.
